Sandy Nordahl
 
 
Sandy is currently the Technical Director of the Gallagher- Bluedorn Performing Arts Center at the University of Northern Iowa. Presenting such productions as Cats, Rent, and many others as well as mixing for such groups as BB King, Tango Buenos Aries, and Lavay Smith. As a composer, Sandy recently premiered a work for electronic trio and wind ensemble which was commissioned by the University of Northern Iowa Wind Symphony. He is a member of the electronic music group Data Stream which has performed throughout Iowa as well as Minnesota and Oklahoma. Their music has been heard on WMBC Artradio in Baltimore Maryland as well as other Internet radio sites, He has also written reviews of compact discs by various electronic music groups for the Computer Music Journal. Sandy completed his Masters of Music in composition at the University of Oklahoma where his intermedia video/music thesis was the first electronic thesis accepted by the Graduate College. During the summer of 2000 he studied with Karlheinz Stockhausen in Kuerten, Germany. Sandy has many international, national, and local releases as producer and recording engineer, ranging the gamut from classical to pop/commercial mnsic and most recently a series of live recordings of the award winning University of Northern Iowa Jazz Band I with special guest Peter Erskine.
